Video :: Getting Hauntological with Scott Hewicker and Larry Rinder

What is hauntology? In this video, author, playwright, poet, and occasional Blook contributor Kevin Killan probes Hauntology co-curators Scott Hewicker and Larry Rinder about the exhibition, on view at BAM/PFA through December 5, 2010.

On Friday, October 29, Hewicker will present a special Hauntology-themed L@TE event, which promises mood-altering musical performances by Indignant Senility, Barn Owl, Jim Haynes, and Marielle Jakobsons; other-worldly projections, many of which have been excavated from the PFA Collection; a ghostly procession by the Theater for Charity; and other mysterious happenings.

The performance will be preceded at 6 p.m. with a discussion with poet and writer David Brazil, Stanford professor of English Terry Castle, and artist and web designer Josh On about the implications of hauntology for visual art and beyond.

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

I’ve been surfing online greater than 3 hours these days, yet I never discovered any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is beautiful value enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the net will likely be much more helpful than ever before.
